It all began when we purchased the Starlight restaurant in March of 2006. We started a major renovation project with the idea of building upon our previous successes, those being P.J.’s Diner in Breese and Cruisers in Carlyle. Then fate dealt us a blow. Our building was significantly damaged by a tornado that blew through in late July of 2006. Rather than being discouraged, we looked at it as an opportunity to create something bigger and better. Thus the Red Deuce was born.

Being life-long Cardinal fans, we chose the name Red Deuce to honor Germantown native and beloved Cardinal legend Albert “Red” Schoendienst. He wore “The Deuce” proudly, as do we. But we weren’t going to use the name without his consent. As such, we met with him personally and received his blessing, along with some autographed memorabilia which we proudly display throughout our restaurant. When you come in to see us, please feel free to look around and snap a few pictures of our memorabilia honoring Red and other Cardinal greats, both past and present.
